Staff Engineer Mechanical Engineer Equipment
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and utilities through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor and improve equipment reliability.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, shutdown planning, and asset lifecycle management.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and ensure corrective & preventive actions.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices and promote a proactive safety culture across the plant.
- Ensure compliance with OSHAS / HSSE standards, and statutory safety requirements.
- Implement safety systems, tools, and audits to sustain best-in-class safety performance.
- Apply Quality & Reliability tools such as 5S, FMEA, and RCA to optimize maintenance systems.
Projects & Engineering
- Lead and execute greenfield and brownfield projects, including equipment erection, installation, and commissioning.
- Experience in R&D lab setup, testing facilities, or specialized installations such as fuel cell systems is an added advantage.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time and cost-effective project delivery.
- Managing gas infrastructure systems, including Gas Storage, Pressure Regulation, and Distribution Systems—required to support Fuel Cell testing operations
- Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and support procurement activities.
- Create 2D and 3D part drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, GD&T, and tolerances
- Read, interpret, and analyze CAD drawings with tolerances
- Modify and optimize existing designs based on engineering or manufacturing feedback
- Prepare assembly drawings, BOMs, and related documentation
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve design issues
Skills and Experience:
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience in part drawing and detailing
- Strong understanding of tolerances, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings accurately
- Good attention to detail and drawing accuracy
- Experience with sheet metal, machining, or fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of ISO / ANSI drawing standards
- Experience working in manufacturing or product development environments
- CAPEX planning and execution
- Maintenance and utility operations
- Strong understanding of process equipment used in manufacturing environments.
- Prepare, review, and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate integration of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation requirements.
- Lead and support equipment erection, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to design intent and safety standards.
- Execute and document equipment and system commissioning, performance validation, and handover to operations.
- Strong understanding of system‑level testing and process instrumentation - mechanical integration.
Must-Have:
- B.E/B. Tech/M. E/M. Tech in Mechanical. 9–12 year
- Mechanical. 9–12 year of experience in Mechanical & Design of Mechanical.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks & Auto CADD.
- Strong understanding of process equipment.
