About the Role

Vidyard is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Development to join our Nova team - the team behind our AI Video Agent and Vidyard's most experimental product bets. Reporting directly to our CTO, you'll guide a high-performing team building one of our most critical and fast-moving platforms, while contributing to how great engineering gets done across Vidyard. Through your technical coaching and guidance, you will create a supportive and challenging environment for your team to thrive, and participate in broader initiatives to help level up our engineering team as a whole.

This position is available to candidates who are currently located and eligible to work in Canada.

About the Team

Our Nova Team is composed of 5 developers, a Designer, a Staff Product Manager, and a Staff Software Developer. We are dedicated to creating and enhancing Vidyard’s Video Agent feature, continually improving and expanding its functionality.

What You’ll Work On

  • Play an active role in evolving how our Engineering team works including helping the department build fluency in AI-assisted development practices so teams ship faster, experiment smarter, and stay ahead of how the craft is changing.
  • Stay close to the evolving AI landscape so your team makes informed decisions on architecture, tooling, and experimentation — and bring that context into how Nova builds
  • Help shape AI-assisted development practices across Engineering, modeling curiosity and responsible use so teams ship faster and the broader department stays ahead of how the craft is changing
  • Refining your team’s charter and direction to maximize Vidyard’s growth.
  • Fostering strong cross-functional business and technical decisions, with Product Managers and Designers, influencing broad and impactful decisions.
  • Growing and developing an incredible team of hardworking and motivated developers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact.
  • Ensuring the delivery of team projects and outcomes to drive forward business goals.
  • Partnering with other leaders and the team to craft technical and product strategy.

  • Developing a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies Vidyard's values.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7 years experience leading a development team in a cross-functional environment
  • 10+ years of functional experience in Software Development, SaaS experience considered a plus.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI concepts relevant to SaaS product development (agents, LLMs, prompt design, model evaluation tradeoffs) to engage substantively with your team's technical decisions and ask the right questions
  • Proven track record of delivering great solutions to complex problems while balancing technical and product concerns.
  • Have effectively hired, onboarded, and managed a team of developers reporting to you.
  • You invest in your people's growth with the same rigor you apply to technical problems — setting high expectations, giving direct feedback, and creating real development opportunities
  • You build team environments where people do their best work — psychologically safe enough to take risks, accountable enough to deliver
  • You follow through on your commitments, overcome blockers, navigate disagreements and take responsibility for your work and your team's work.
  • You are comfortable in technical conversations, and supporting your team as they explore tradeoffs and make technical decisions.
  • You connect engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes — your team knows why the work matters,
