Position Summary:
Operates radiology equipment under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray films. Works under the supervision of a technologist, in a wide variety of settings including, but not limited to: general x ray, fluoroscopy, surgery, emergency department, critical care units, and neo-natal. Performs a wide variety of technical radiologic procedures using standard, portable, and/or specialized x-ray equipment to apply an appropriately determined amount of ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient’s illness and injuries. Performs related tasks such as assisting patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintaining order and cleanliness of work area, and performing routine clerical tasks.
What you'll do:
- Performs X-Ray procedures and operates machines in a safe and proper manner.
- Performs all clerical and support functions associated with X-Ray process.
- Assesses and monitors patient condition during procedures.
- Follows on-the-job instructions as directed.
- Organizes and prioritizes work to meet customer needs.
- Acts as a team player, helping other staff when appropriate, to keep patient wait times to a minimum.
- Accurately articulates exam results as directed by Radiologist, to Physicians, RNs and patients.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Second year student in an approved American Registry Radiographic Technologist program required.
- Certification or re-certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire.
- First year of hospital clinicals complete.
