Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) is an organization within the Mastercard Group for regulated payment activities that ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations associated with holding funds transfer licenses. MTS supports our multi-rail strategy by enabling new regulated payment flows.

About the Role

The Financial Operations (FinOps) team is a front-line team, close to business and helping translate Business needs into E2E financially accepted operating models. The team ensures the accuracy, integrity, and operational readiness of financial processes across the organization.
You will collaborate with Finance, Controllership, Treasury, Product, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to assess both day‑to‑day financial operational changes and new strategic initiatives.
This position will be critical to support the Financial workstream of a new major operating model implementation, focusing on standardizing our platform infrastructure and preparing the business for scale (ONE HUB).
You will be working in a dynamic environment where your ability to adapt and regularly integrate new information will be essential.
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy analytical problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and playing a key role in ensuring the smooth execution or improvement, optimization of financial processes and projects.

All about you

Key Responsibilities
1. Project assessment
• Participate to project briefing from business teams.
• Proactively identify operational risks or design issues arising from new initiatives and ensure Finance requirements are embedded early.
• Support finance-related workstreams for cross functional initiatives (e.g., new products, new financial flows, system improvements, financial process redesign).
• Support the project tasks from definition to execution: gathering requirements, creating timelines, identifying dependencies, and tracking deliverables.
• Participate in testing, validation, and readiness checks for financial process or system changes.

2. Financial Operations & Controls
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data flowing through the various operational systems.
• Support the accuracy and completeness of financial data flowing through the various operational systems.
• Identify operational risks or irregularities and help design or strengthen controls to mitigate them.
• Contribute to documentation of processes and continuous improvement of financial controls and procedures.

3. Cross Functional Coordination
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Controllership, Treasury, Product, and Compliance to align on requirements and ensure consistency across financial processes.
• Support the operational onboarding of new business activities or partners by reviewing finance-related requirements and ensuring readiness.
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to resolve issues affecting financial data integrity.

Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical / Hard Skills
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany activity, financial flows).
• Ability to work with and interpret large datasets; advanced Excel skills and familiarity with BI/reporting tools.
• Experience with financial systems such as ERP, reconciliation tools, or reporting platforms.
• Ability to understand end‑to‑end financial processes and their operational dependencies.
• Solid project‑management capabilities, including planning, task coordination, stakeholder follow‑up, and progress tracking.

2. Soft Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• English fluent (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
• Comfortable adapting to evolving processes and managing ambiguity.
• Collaborative, proactive attitude with resilience under pressure.

Experience & Background
• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience in Financial Operations, Controllership, Treasury Operations, Audit, or similar roles.
• Experience in project management (formal or informal), ideally within cross‑functional environments.
• Exposure to financial controls, regulatory considerations, or audit environments is a plus.

Optional but Valuable
• Experience working in complex, multi entity, multi currency environments.
• Interest or experience in process automation, data analytics, or system improvements.
• Familiarity with operational risk, financial compliance, or internal controls frameworks.
