About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Fixed Income Cross‑Asset Sales Specialist (Vice President) to support the expansion of our Japanese institutional client business.

This role covers Japanese institutional investors with a primary focus on Credit products, while operating as a Credit‑led Cross‑Asset Sales professional across Credit, MBS, Rates, and FX. It contributes to the medium‑ to long‑term growth of Wells Fargo’s Credit and Cross‑Asset franchise in Japan by delivering integrated, client‑driven solutions and supporting the expansion of cross‑asset engagement with domestic institutional clients.


In this role, you will:

  • Cover Japanese institutional clients (e.g., life insurers, asset managers) with a primary focus on Credit sales, serving as a trusted relationship manager and solutions provider
  • Act as a Credit‑led Cross‑Asset Sales specialist, delivering integrated solutions across Credit, MBS, Rates, FX, and financing products in line with client needs
  • Promote differentiated Credit and Securitized solutions, including:
    • MBS and other securitized products (e.g., U.S. CLOs)
    • Non‑JPY denominated Investment Grade Credit
    • Funding solutions and balance sheet–related products
    • Comprehensive financing and structured solutions
  • Use Credit as the anchor product to progressively expand client engagement across multiple asset classes, including MBS, Rates, FX, and financing
  • Drive cross‑selling initiatives within Wells Fargo’s existing Japanese client base and actively develop new institutional client relationships
  • Contribute to the medium‑ to long‑term growth strategy of the Credit and Cross‑Asset franchise in Japan
  • Deliver financial results and support the expansion of market share within the Japanese institutional investor segment
  • Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with Japanese institutional investors, positioning Wells Fargo as a strategic partner
  • Work closely with internal Trading desks and key stakeholders, including Regional Management, Risk, Compliance, and Product teams
  • Operate with a high level of professionalism, discipline, and diligence in full alignment with the firm’s risk management and control framework


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Strong knowledge of Credit markets, products, and solutions, with an understanding of cross-asset linkages across Rates and FX
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in an Institutional Sales or client servicing role, preferably with a strong focus on Credit / FICC products
  • Established network of Japanese institutional clients, including banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions
  • Familiarity with electronic distribution platforms for Macro products
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment, with a proven ability to grow client relationships and revenue in a strategic and disciplined manner
  • Good understanding of technological, risk, and regulatory trends impacting Credit and broader FICC businesses
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to support decision-making and manage initiatives
  • Highest level of integrity and sound judgement, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong commercial judgement, with excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organizational environment, with strong partnership and collaboration skills
