Description
Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include: - Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies. - Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product. - Partner with internal and external cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes. - Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. - Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members. - Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations. - Design for Manufacturability - Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable. - Process Engineering - Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency - Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross functional team on a frequent basis - Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process - International travel to supplier sites, up to 30%
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years experience in process development/bring up and qualification BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Program/project management experience Manufacturing or supplier management experience Working knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory Good command of Excel and JMP Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin or Korean language skills are a plus but not required Strong Team Player
