As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.
Responsibilities
- Own and sustain manufacturing test processes and procedures for modules, subsystems, and systems in volume production
- Primary technical owner for production test performance, including yield, escape prevention, and test-related downtime
- Continuously improve test processes to drive first-pass yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost efficiency
- Analyze manufacturing test data, SPC trends, DMRs, and field feedback to identify systemic issues
- Lead root-cause investigations for recurring test failures and implement permanent corrective actions
- Optimize test coverage to balance risk containment vs. manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain and enhance automated test scripts to improve repeatability, reduce manual effort, and support scalable production
- Use data-driven insights to proactively prevent test escapes and field issues
- Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing for test failures, anomalies, and line issues
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, or system-level failures occurring during product test
- Ensure manufacturing test processes comply with quality system requirements, customer expectations, and audit standards
- Determine standard labor hours for test, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements
- Gathers operational and test data and evaluates results
- Evaluates work methods, procedures and policies
- Assists in determining root cause analysis for issues that arise during assembly and/or test of systems
Requirements
- Bachelor in Engineering with minimum 2 years of experience in related field
- Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a discipline
- Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or experience
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
- Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding
- Data analysis and interpretation: Basic level
