Deutsche Bank Switzerland is looking for an experienced Capital Markets Trader, Director to act as Deputy to the Head of Trading. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility across multiple asset classes, combining hands‑on trading expertise with strategic oversight, risk management, and process innovation in a highly regulated banking environment.
The role offers significant exposure across Capital Markets Sales, Coverage, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Legal and Audit, with a strong focus on client outcomes, best execution, and sustainable revenue generation
Responsibilities
Trade across Equities, Fixed Income, Listed Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, Precious Metals, and related derivatives
Ensure market‑appropriate, timely and compliant pricing and execution, consistently adhering to Best Execution standards
Act as a senior trading authority and deputy to the Head of Trading, supporting leadership, decision‑making and escalation processes
Partner closely with Capital Markets Sales, Coverage, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Audit to deliver best in class client coverage and robust trading solutions
Assess, manage and control risks across market, credit, operational and reputational dimensions
Drive the development and continuous improvement of trading, pricing, and execution processes
Lead and sponsor automation, digitalisation and efficiency initiatives in trading and post‑trade workflows
Contribute to strategic initiatives, business development, and the evolution of the Europe International capital markets platform
Support governance, regulatory engagement, audits and internal controls in line with Swiss and global regulatory standards
Skills & Experience
Minimum 10 years of trading experience across multiple asset classes, including
Equities (incl. SIX Swiss Exchange licence)
Fixed Income
Listed Derivatives
Foreign Exchange & Precious Metals
In‑depth derivatives knowledge
Fluent in English and German (mandatory); additional languages are an advantage
Strong understanding of legal, compliance and regulatory requirements applicable to trading within a regulated bank (e.g. FINMA, MiFID, MAR, internal governance)
Proven ability to identify, assess and manage trading‑related risks, including market, credit, operational and reputational risks
Experience in a senior, lead or people‑management role within a trading or capital markets environment
Deep understanding of automation and digitalisation in trading, including electronic execution and process optimisation
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure
Strong stakeholder‑management, communication and interpersonal skills
Team‑oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment
Positive, entrepreneurial and self‑motivated personality, with a strong desire to grow and make an impact
