Job Details:

The Office of the Dean of Students develops student leaders, fosters involvement and provides support for all Longhorns throughout their UT Austin experience.

Purpose

Supports the operations of the Office of the Dean of Students by completing clerical and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as the first point of contact for students, families, faculty, and visitors entering the Dean of Students Office.
2. Answer and route incoming telephone calls
3. Provide accurate information about department services, campus resources, hours, and procedures.
4. Check in visitors for appointments, workshops, meetings, or events.
5. Pick up and deliver materials on campus.
6. Complete clerical duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, tracking office supply inventory, and other similar tasks.
7. Maintain an organized and clean workspace as well as perform light cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and watering plants.

8. Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Able to handle confidential information. Able to work in a fast-paced office environment. Display excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor, including attire. Punctual, reliable, and detail orientated. Authorized to work in the United States of America.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a professional office environment. Experience answering a multi-line telephone system and use of office equipment. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to show initiative, function independently, pay attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of university resources. Experience in a customer service position.

Salary Range

$10.50 per hour

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Onsite at the Student Services Building (SSB)

Work Shift

10-20 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5:30pm
