Associate / Junior Art Generalist
Zynga is looking for a passionate and creative Associate / Junior Art Generalist to join our game art team. If you are enthusiastic about games, eager to learn, and excited to contribute across 2D art & animation, Unity implementation, and basic VFX, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you will work closely with senior/lead artists and cross-functional teams to support the creation and implementation of high-quality game visuals while learning and growing within a collaborative environment.
What You Will Do:
- Support the creation of 2D concepts, illustrations, and in-game assets based on project briefs.
- Create and implement basic 2D animations within Unity.
- Assist in conceptualizing ideas and producing quick sketches to communicate visual directions.
- Create clean line-art concepts and coloured illustrations aligned with the game’s art style.
- Develop sprites, textures, and simple assets for use in Unity.
- Assist in creating simple in-engine VFX using Unity tools and shaders.
- Ensure visual consistency by matching and working within the established art style.
- Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate assets into the game engine.
- Continuously learn and improve workflows, tools, and technical skills.
What You Bring:
- 6 months–3 years of experience in game art, design, or related field (internships/projects included).
- A strong portfolio demonstrating understanding of art fundamentals (Animations,form, color, composition).
- Good conceptualization skills with ability to produce quick sketches and rough drafts.
- Experience creating line-art concepts and coloured illustrations.
- Basic understanding of sprite creation, textures, and asset preparation for games.
- Exposure to Unity (asset integration, animation setup, simple VFX implementation).
- Exposure to .ai tools.
- Experience with Photoshop.
- 2D animation knowledge (especially within Unity).
- Foundational understanding of UI principles.
- Understanding of VFX creation in Unity.
- Basics of 3D (modeling or texturing knowledge) is a plus.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take feedback constructively.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
