Summary:

Performs quality exams and creates preliminary reports. Assists with interpreting imaging for each study. Required to work in the regional clinical setting, and the UAMS NICU (at AC only) on a rotational basis. This position also includes call.

1 of the following certifications is required -  , Registered cardiac sonographer in either adult echocardiography or pediatric echocardiography OR Become registered in either specialty within 12 months from date of graduation from an ultrasound program that includes cardiac imaging. Must be registered in pediatric echocardiography by 2 years from date of hire. - various

Recommended Certifications:

RDCS, AE, PE, Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with PE (RDCS-PE) - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Description

1. Reviews physician order, and verifies patient/procedure and performs echocardiograms.

2. Prepares and processes echo studies for interpretation.

3. Assists in training of Cardiology Fellows performing Pediatric Echocardiography (AC only).

4. Monitors equipment during procedures for equipment malfunctions and notifies of major malfunctions.

5. Inventories supplies and submits list to proper personnel, to keep adequate supply stock for department.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.
