About the role
The Part-Time Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for installing, operating, and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment on location for events and functions including: concerts, sporting events, watch parties, meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences. This position requires part-time availability that includes nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Install equipment including microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, audio mixers, and video switchers for events and functions
Work closely with audiovisual and event teams to ensure all audiovisual needs are met or exceeded
Ensure equipment is installed according to site maps and/or verbal/written instructions
Test and resolve basic equipment issues
Serve as A2 or stagehand for large events
Serve as A1 for small events
Clean/maintain audiovisual equipment and ensure its proper storage
Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment
Ensure the safe storage and integrity of data
Maintain inventory of audiovisual equipment
Provide all end-users and guests a positive first impression by offering World Class Service
Any additional tasks deemed necessary for proper performance of AV department responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years old with high school diploma or GED required
Must successfully complete pre-employment background check screening
1-3 years of related AV experience required
Motivated and positive, high-energy attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and in team environments
Detail oriented w/ excellent organizational skills
Creative and proactive problem solver
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and punctuality
Working Conditions
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.
Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language
Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people
Ability to work comfortably around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
Ability to work in loud environments
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Must be able to walk to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying earther conditions and during high-traffic event times
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures
Must be able to climb ladders, kneel, bend, stoop, and squat without any physical movement restriction
Must be able to work comfortably at high heights using man lifts, truss, ladders, and catwalks
