MercyOne Centerville Emergency RoomPRN - Hours/Shifts Vary
Provide care for patients including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements.
Manages basic/advanced life support needs and stabilizes patients based upon the standards, Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, PHTLS and approved protocols.
Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
Records patients’ current vital signs and reports any adverse changes or critical findings to the Emergency Department physician.
Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments.
Supervises and/or provides guidance to ER Techs.
Prepares and administers medications (orally, subcutaneously, intravenously) as ordered by the Emergency Department physician and records the administration in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
Cleans and bandages wounds as directed.
Provides basic, bedside care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of accredited Paramedic program
ACLS within 90 days, PALS within 90 days, Mandatory Reporter within 90 days
Critical Paramedic level preferred, NRP preferred, , PHTLS or equivalent preferred
