About the role

Who We Are

Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Launched from Google X in 2015, our purpose is to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day. We are focused on generating and activating data from a variety of sources, including clinical, social, behavioral and the real world, to arrive at the best solutions for a person based on a comprehensive view of the evidence. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes.

Description

Verily's core strategy is to advance precision health by bridging the gap between research and care. To achieve this, we require a robust content serving platform that enables seamless configuration of clinical data, protocols, schedules, and plan definitions for both clinical studies and care programs. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in developing systems that support content management and localization as used by users in our Enterprise suite of applications. Your work will directly impact the experience of patients and participants enrolled in our programs, ensuring they engage with clear, actionable and timely information in their preferred languages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complex technical solutions for enterprise web applications that configure and manage content for clinical trials and care programs.

  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers, product managers, UX designers, and other cross-functional peers to deliver best-in-class software.

  • Iterate and provide feedback on product requirements and mocks.

  • Deliver software written in TypeScript/React and Go and deployed on GCP and enable third-party integrations that speed up implementation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer building web applications and backend systems.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering software in a collaborative environment with a cross-functional team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TypeScript/React and/or Go.

  • Deep understanding of design patterns for building robust, scalable, and maintainable applications.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and find effective solutions in a collaborative environment while seeking to improve team processes.

  • Experience working in healthcare technology and/or familiarity with the HL7 FHIR standard.
