How you will make an impact:

The Digital Science and Analytical Solutions (DSAS) business within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) and the Research & Safety Division (RSD) provide innovative analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, software, and workflow solutions that support customers across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, industrial, environmental, and government markets throughout Latin America.

We are seeking an FP&A Analyst who will be an integral part of the LATAM Finance team, partnering closely with DSAS and RSD commercial and operational leaders. This role will support the delivery of our near- and long-term financial objectives through financial planning, forecasting, reporting, performance analysis, and business decision support. The scope of responsibilities includes all FP&A activities, driving financial insights, supporting strategic initiatives, and helping execute financial goals that enable sustainable growth across the region.

In addition, this position will provide support to the FP&A senior team on selected planning, reporting, and analytical activities across other AIG divisions, including Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD) and Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD), offering broad exposure to multiple businesses within Thermo Fisher Scientific.

What you will do:

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning and reporting processes, including forecasts, MBRs, QBRs, AOP, STRAP, and other management reporting requirements.

• Prepare and analyze financial results, identifying key business drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making across DSAS and RSD businesses in Latin America.

• Partner with commercial, marketing, service, and operational teams to develop financial forecasts, challenge assumptions, and improve visibility into business performance and future outlook.

• Consolidate, validate, and report financial information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate reporting requirements and timelines.

• Develop and maintain financial models to support revenue, margin, operating expense, headcount, and capital expenditure planning, as well as scenario and sensitivity analyses.

• Support month-end and quarter-end reviews by providing variance analysis against forecast, budget, prior year, and strategic targets, clearly communicating performance drivers to business and finance leadership.

• Prepare management presentations, dashboards, and executive-level reporting packages that provide meaningful insights into financial and operational performance.

• Collaborate with FP&A leaders across AIG and RSD to support cross-divisional planning, reporting, and analytical initiatives, including selected activities for CMD and MSD businesses.

• Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, reporting tools, and data visualization capabilities to increase efficiency, standardization, and business value.

• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and support strategic projects, helping leadership evaluate growth opportunities, resource allocation decisions, and business initiatives.

Requirements

• Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of financial planning & analysis experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization

• Based in a LATAM location with a Thermo Fisher office, such as Sao Paulo - Brazil, Mexico City - Mexico or Bogota - Colombia.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Proficient user of systems (i.e. SAP, Hyperion, Hyperion planning, Power BI, Cognos, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Proficient in English, Spanish is also desirable

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner

• Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work. Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines and multi-task in deadline driven environment

• Good understanding of business processes and operations & financial controls, able to identify control weaknesses in existing process and recommend mitigation actions

Travel requirements

• 01 or 02 trips per year may be required for face-to-face meetings
