Profile Description


We're seeking someone to join our FORT (Operations Technology) team as a Java Software Engineer. Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale, distributed Java applications supporting post-trade asset servicing operations. This Vice President role combines hands-on engineering, technical ownership, stakeholder partnership, and leadership across analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The VP, Operations Technology, manages technology platforms supporting post-trade asset servicing operations, including corporate actions, income processing, tax services, custody support, and regulatory reporting, helping drive operational efficiency.

Team Profile
Asset Servicing Technology is a part of Operations Technology that delivers end-to-end technology solutions for corporate actions and asset servicing across ISG and WM. The team supports the complete lifecycle of corporate action events, including notification, elections, entitlement calculation, payment processing, and claims management, through strategic platforms such as GLASS, ASRV, and Scorpio. It also drives platform modernization, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance through the adoption of modern technologies and engineering practices.

This is Vice President position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

  

What you will do in the role

  • Lead technology projects, manage deliverables, and oversee end-user and vendor interactions.
  • Own end-to-end delivery in an Agile environment, including requirements clarification, architecture design, implementation, code review, deployment, and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with users and technologists to deliver asset servicing regulatory and strategic initiatives.
  • Support global delivery teams and business operations.
  • Mentor and lead global development teams.

What you will bring to the role

  • Extensive hands-on experience—minimum 8 years—in software development for distributed transactional systems, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity guiding teams through technical delivery.
  • Experience in capital markets or investment banking.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong analytical and design skills; ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Expertise in service-oriented architecture, Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, middleware (messaging/caching/RESTful services), Unix/Linux scripting, Junit, BDD.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, system resiliency, scalability, and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide teams in the use of modern front-end frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue), advanced JavaScript (ES6+), event streaming platforms like Kafka, Python programming, and relational database technologies (SQL, stored procedures).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based application development, Agile, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in investment banking or FinTech application development.
  • Functional/business knowledge of the corporate actions and asset servicing lifecycle, including event processing, client elections, entitlement calculations, income and dividend processing.
