Relying on your proven track record of bringing various optical systems to life, you will architect and optimize our system workflows from the ground up. You will use your deep understanding of SW and FW development along with custom algorithm design to turn complex optical alignments and processes into highly efficient, automated solutions An ideal candidate will be eager to learn from the past and be curious about all related fields, such as: software, physics, data science, and technology fundamentals. Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills are required

Description

In this role, you will play an important part in maturing early-stage optical concepts into robust , fully integrated instruments , designing with manufacturing constraint in mind. By combining strong algorithmic problem-solving with your deep programming expertise, you will own the technical maturation of our metrology systems. Ultimately, your work will culminate in delivering a production-ready system, ensuring a smooth handover to our deployment teams for scaling and integration at the factory.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s (M.S.) in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering 5+ years of hands-on industry experience designing, building, and integrating complex optical systems from the ground up Demonstrated experience working across a variety of optical systems, bringing them from concept to fully functional, automated setups. Deep proficiency in C/C++ and Python for hardware control, data acquisition, and algorithm implementation Experience with Optomechanics and precision motion control (e.g., motorized stages, hexapods, piezo actuators) for highly accurate alignment. Strong ability to design and implement custom algorithms to solve complex alignment, calibration, or measurement problems

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering Familiarity with image processing and computer vision fundamentals (object detection, segmentation, geometric correction) Proven experience designing, building, and deploying AI-driven automated workflows, utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agents to solve complex engineering problems. Hands-on experience developing custom 'Skills' and tool-calling capabilities for AI agents, enabling them to autonomously interact with APIs, databases, and internal software frameworks. Self-motivated, independent, and takes initiative Resourceful, prepared to champion work in front of a large group, and enjoys working in cross-functional teams.
