About the role

As a Java Microservices Developer, you will help design, build and modernize secure, scalable microservices that support retirement product solutions and customer processing. You will develop cloud-ready applications using modern Java technologies and contribute to reliable, high-performance platforms that support critical business operations. Working closely with product, engineering and business teams, you will transform business requirements into technical solutions while maintaining security, quality and operational excellence. Success in this role is measured through resilient service delivery, system performance improvements and modernization outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot technologies.
  • Design and build RESTful APIs that integrate with databases, messaging platforms and external systems.
  • Deploy, monitor and support containerized applications across OpenShift and cloud environments.
  • Modernize legacy applications into reusable, maintainable and scalable service-based architectures while contributing to continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, improve application performance and support Agile delivery through planning, estimation and continuous improvement activities.

What you bring

Required qualifications

  • Experience developing enterprise applications using Java-based microservices architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and Spring Security.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, service integrations and relational database solutions using SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Red Hat OpenShift or Amazon Web Services (AWS), along with Git, Maven or Gradle, and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience, with experience in automated testing using JUnit, Mockito and integration testing frameworks.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and OpenShift ecosystem tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including EKS, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch and IAM.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ, along with familiarity with OpenAPI, Swagger and observability practices.
