Job Description:

As a Network Operations Planning (NOP) Technology Consultant supporting the NOP Business Implementation Team, you'll support Airline Partnerships and International Point of Sale initiatives by capturing business requirements and helping translate them into effective process and technology solutions. You'll work closely with cross‑functional business and technology partners across the enterprise to support strategic planning, project execution, and organizational priorities. This Team is currently launching a major transformational initiative for Southwest, delivering exciting capabilities that will meaningfully shape the future of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the research and analysis of trends, the development of new strategies, processes, tools and reports

  • Directly involved in understanding, improving and sharing available data sets with other teams within the business

  • Leverage his/hers and the team’s technology skills (SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, Tableau, Big Data Concepts) and business knowledge to provide answers to business requests

  • Transform raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings

  • Work through development and improvement of models and process including supporting their downline implementation

  • Facilitate and share technical guidance on principles and topics to groups around the business

  • Handle and manage multiple concurrent projects assigned to the team

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, product planning, prioritization, and coordination of people and resources

  • Knowledge of strategic and financial analysis and analytical and quantitative skills

  • Skilled in PowerPoint to synthesize information and develop presentations for Senior Leadership and affected stakeholders

  • Skilled in written and verbal communication with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and executives

  • Skilled the Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, SharePoint, etc.

  • Skilled in applying a methodical and logical approach to complex problem solving

  • Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and to provide direction in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work under stressful situations and manage time effectively

  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals

  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong

  • Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner with all levels of Employees and Leadership

  • Ability to demonstrate identifying tradeoffs between immediate operational needs and long term strategic requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in :

    • Solving complex problems and driving multiple stakeholders towards implementable solutions

    • Leading programs that can span multiple work groups and/or departments

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must be able to work extended hours based on department needs

Pay & Benefits

Competitive market salary from $119,900 per year to $133,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
