Role Summary:

The Associate Consultant delivers timely and accurate periodic reviews and provides effective compliance oversight by partnering with operational business units and Second Line of Defence (2LoD) stakeholders to support EMEA Legal Entity Compliance governance and deliverables. The role covers day-to-day compliance activities, including regulatory change management, controls framework maintenance, and compliance monitoring and reporting through the collations and analysis of key risk indicators (KRIs) and management information (MI). The Associate Consultant monitors legislative and regulatory developments, advises on regulatory obligations, policy adherence and control effectiveness, and escalates material issues to support risk mitigation and sustained compliance.

Major Duties:

  • Support the operational infrastructure of the Global Compliance EMEA team

  • Maintain Breaches, Complaints and Marketing registers; obtain and validate supporting documentation and escalate exceptions in accordance with governance requirements.

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of Compliance Monitoring Programmes (CMPs), including the development of monitoring checklists and procedures.

  • Support the development of EMEA compliance programmes and act as a point of contact for partner compliance enquiries.

  • Execute compliance monitoring and oversight activities in line with the annual EMEA Compliance Programme plan.

  • Collate and analyse compliance metrics and Management Information (MI), including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), to identify emerging risk themes and trends.

  • Perform monthly oversight of indicators, escalate material issues to relevant stakeholders, and track actions through to closure.

  • Support the Compliance Risk Assessment process, including documenting risks and controls and assessing control design and operating effectiveness.

  • Draft clear, evidence-based conclusions and recommendations that are timely, accurate and audit-ready.

  • Draft and maintain compliance documentation (policies, procedures, guidance, manuals and codes of conduct) to support implementation of regulatory requirements.

  • Produce high-quality compliance reports and management updates, including escalation summaries and MI packs

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 5 or more years' experience, preferably in a control or risk type function.

  • A solid understanding of risk management, compliance frameworks, and relevant laws and regulations is highly beneficial; however, a general awareness of industry regulatory obligations is acceptable.

  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to work are essential.

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities are required.

  • Candidates should be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time efficiently.

  • Proficiency in utilizing AI technologies and emerging industry tools is also expected.
