Trains under guidance to develop basic business knowledge and technical skills to become an Associate Designer professional. Trainee will demonstrate learned knowledge of the whole portfolio applicable to the Category in focus, including functionality, taste identification, understanding ingredient interaction and limitations. Learns the skills required to operate safely and effectively within a laboratory environment. The trainee will support senior Designers in IFF’s internal and external projects.Responsibilities/Description:
Under guidance, learns fundamental design skills and knowledge of the portfolio applicable in the Category in focus
Understands the basic functionality and performance of the portfolio applicable to the Category in focus
Exposure to the full portfolio; evaluation and selection techniques for relevant projects
Able to operate and maintain lab and pilot equipment
Explores new ingredients/technologies and understands why/how it performs in the different products or solutions in final designs
Broadens business understanding of other functions: Production, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing and Product Experience (PX)
Must demonstrate a proactive approach to learning
Exhibits capabilities to operate as a team member
Requirements:
Minimum entry level is a University/College Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Human Nutrition)
Entry level, preferable 0–1 years’ internship experience in similar job/seasoning/flavor industry
Knowledgeable in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation and production processes
Pass internal IFF sensory test.
