$2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!  $250 paid at hire, $500 paid at 3/6/9 months, $750 paid after one year of employment.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician III operates independently to perform preventive and routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and repair production and facility equipment failures. This role collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure optimal equipment performance while complying with safety policies and operational objectives. The Maintenance Technician III also serves as a lead and mentor to junior maintenance technicians and reports directly to the Facility Manager.

1st shift hours are M-F  6:00am to 2:30pm. 

Safety

  • Support the implementation of safety protocols and comply with all safety procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Contribute to facility safety initiatives and support continuous improvement programs through active participation in audits, corrective actions, and process‑optimization activities.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas utilizing 5S standards to ensure compliance.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform detailed machinery inspection and documents items needing addressed.
  • Execute and document preventative maintenance through PM software.
  • Procures replacement and repair components to support timely equipment rebuilds and corrective maintenance activities
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining spare parts requirements to effectively limit machinery downtime.
  • Provide general preventative maintenance of HVAC systems equipment (non-coolant applications).

Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform repairs and replace faulty components on plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, PLC’s, compressed air systems, pumps and facilities equipment/infrastructure.
  • Provide general electrical repair/maintenance and installation of electronic controls/equipment.
  • Perform electrical shutdown/startup of low to high voltage equipment.
  • Document repair to machinery establishing a history and timeline of changes.
  • Provide support in writing standard operating procedures.
  • Provides mechanical and technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, enhancing departmental capability through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on instruction.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education and/or technical trade certification in HVAC, electronics or industrial mechanics or applicable experience required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair.  Experience in the converting or printing industries a plus.
  • Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals, electrical schematics and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification and maintenance of equipment.
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic shop math skills.

WORKING CONDITIONGS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This role requires frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and regular standing, walking, reaching, handling, bending, squatting, kneeling, and visual tasks. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 150 pounds, climbing, twisting, and overhead work may be required. Crawling and sitting are required infrequently.
  • This position involves working in a noisy environment with exposure to machinery with moving parts, electrical hazards, and potentially toxic or flammable substances. The role may require working at heights as well as in both high‑temperature and low‑temperature environments.
