Job Description:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is hiring for an OBGYN Generalist to be considered as a full-time academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology. Applicants at all levels of experience will be considered.

The Department of OB/Gyn and Women’s Health is comprised of 17 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of MFM, Gyn-Onc, FPMRS, and members with focused practice in MIGS and Advanced Family Planning. Our team also includes three CNM and four women’s health NP.

The department has a strong program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gyn surgery, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care
  • Teaching and mentoring medical students and residents
  • Collaborating with other faculty in clinical research
  • Quality and safety, and academic projects
  • 2-3 days per week in resident and private clinics 
  • 1 day per week labor and delivery coverage
  • 1 day per week gynecologic surgery
  • 4 in-house night (14h) or weekend (12 hour) shifts per month
  • Post-overnight shift off
  • Interest/experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: clinical research; robotics; minimally invasive surgery; family planning; chronic pelvic pain; sexual dysfunction; and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, board certification or eligibility, and qualifications to obtain an unrestricted Kentucky Medical License. Previous faculty experience in an academic setting is preferred. Salary and academic rank are based on qualifications.
