Job Title

Senior Manager, Risk Product and Flows

About your role:

As a Senior Manager, Risk Product and Flows, you will lead product strategy and execution for merchant onboarding experiences that support credit risk and underwriting decisioning for small businesses. You will work closely with Credit Risk, Underwriting, Fraud, Data Science, Engineering, Design, and go-to-market teams to translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and efficient onboarding journeys that improve approval speed, merchant conversion, and activation outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Own end-to-end merchant onboarding experiences that support risk and underwriting requirements, including know your business (KYB), know your customer (KYC), identity verification, business verification, and underwriting data capture.
  • Design and optimize onboarding flows that collect required data and documentation based on established credit risk, underwriting, and fraud requirements.
  • Translate decision outcomes, including approve, pend, decline, and additional information required, into clear onboarding experiences that support merchant understanding and completion.
  • Partner with Credit Risk, Underwriting, Fraud, and Data Science teams to operationalize evolving requirements into product requirements, workflow changes, and user experience enhancements.
  • Drive integration and orchestration efforts with third-party verification and data providers to support underwriting and onboarding needs.
  • Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators, including onboarding conversion, decision latency, manual review rate, boarding speed, and time to first transaction.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery across Engineering, Design, Operations, and go-to-market teams to deliver scalable onboarding capabilities without direct people management responsibility.
  • Balance onboarding speed, data collection, and control requirements to improve approval rates and downstream merchant activation while maintaining compliance with established standards.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in product management leading complex digital product initiatives, including onboarding, account origination, payments, fintech, credit risk, underwriting, or fraud-related experiences.
  • 6+ years of experience translating business, risk, and operational requirements into product requirements, process flows, and customer-facing experiences in regulated environments.
  • 6+ years of experience using performance metrics, experimentation, and data analysis to prioritize enhancements and measure product outcomes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners across Credit Risk, Underwriting, Fraud, Data Science, Engineering, Design, Operations, and go-to-market teams.
  • Experience defining and managing measurable product performance indicators such as conversion, latency, manual review rates, and activation outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, product management, technology, finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with self-service and sales-assisted merchant onboarding journeys.
  • Experience with structured query language (SQL), analytics tools, or experimentation frameworks.
  • Experience integrating with third-party identity verification, business verification, or underwriting data providers.
  • Experience supporting small business or merchant acquiring products.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. In-office time supports onboarding and improves team productivity.
