Director, Capital Markets and Funds

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a non‑executive director for capital markets and investment fund entities, providing independent oversight and strategic input.
  • Lead and actively participate in board meetings; review, assess, and comment on transactional and fund documentation; coordinate with service providers; and ensure strong governance practices.
  • Collaborate with the global capital markets team on cross‑jurisdictional clients, transactions, and complex structuring matters.
  • Partner with global business development and senior leadership to provide pricing guidance, commercial insights, and subject‑matter expertise for new client opportunities and transactions.
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight across capital markets service lines, including corporate finance support, fund transactions, regulatory filings, and structured entity governance.
  • Lead client‑delivery teams across Cayman and international offices to ensure high‑quality service delivery, timely execution, and exceptional investor service.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point in Cayman for complex capital markets and fund‑related matters.
  • Act as a key liaison with compliance, finance, risk, internal audit, and global operations to ensure alignment and adherence to firmwide standards.
  • Ensure strong governance, precise data management, and strict compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments affecting capital markets, investment structures, and fund vehicles, advising internal teams and clients as needed.
  • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and mentorship to support a high‑performance culture across the capital markets function.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management to build a capable and future‑ready team.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or Accounting required; an MBA, Master’s degree, or professional designation (CPA, CFA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in investment banking, corporate finance, fund administration, or capital markets.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a broad range of hedge fund and private equity clients, including both regulated and unregulated entities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability and flexibility to attend, participate in, and minute meetings outside standard working hours when required.
  • Deep knowledge of the investment funds industry, including fund structures, investment strategies, and operational frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly at senior levels.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management capabilities, with proven ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of risk awareness and the ability to assess, escalate, and influence decisions across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to quality execution.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and within time‑sensitive environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential.
