Job Description:
The Patch Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the patch management process across the program, ensuring desktops, laptops, and remote systems remain fully updated to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with organizational policies. This role works closely with end users, IT teams, and security personnel to coordinate patch deployment, provide advanced support, and ensure timely and effective remediation of identified risks.
The Work:
- Manage and oversee the patch management lifecycle for desktops, laptops, and remote systems.
- Ensure timely deployment of patches to mitigate vulnerabilities and meet compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with IT, security teams, and end users to schedule and execute patch rollout activities.
- Utilize patch management tools such as Microsoft WSUS and SCCM to deploy and track updates.
- Maintain and optimize patch schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Conduct assessments and audits to validate patch compliance and readiness.
- Develop and maintain detailed patch management documentation and procedures.
- Implement automated patching solutions and support process improvements.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support related to patch deployment issues.
- Apply data security best practices to all patch management activities.
- Monitor emerging vulnerabilities and ensure timely patch application based on risk and prioritization.
Here's what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; or 4 years additional equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in patch management or a related IT role.
- Deep understanding of patch management principles, tools, and lifecycle processes.
- Experience with tools such as Microsoft WSUS and SCCM.
- Experience conducting assessments, audits, and implementing automated patch management solutions.
Bonus points if you have:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CPMP, or other relevant credentials.
- Experience supporting patching in large enterprise or government environments.
Security Clearance:
- Must be a US citizen (No Dual Citizenship)
- Must possess an active Secret clearance
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
