Who You Are & The Impact You Will Have:
Senior Corporate Counsel (Real Estate) is a member of the legal team who reports to the Associate General Counsel, Director - Real Estate and supports the company’s real estate activities and operations, such as acquisitions / dispositions, leasing, development, zoning and land use, entitlements, and other real estate development activities. This position maintains compliance with relevant contract policies and procedures and provides direct support to the company’s acquisition and development team and business units.
What You Will Do:
Real Estate Matters:
- Support the legal aspects of the company’s real estate activities, operations, and transactions. This includes the negotiation and drafting of various legal documents and agreements, including those pertaining to real estate purchase/sale agreements, leasing, joint ventures, tax incentives, economic development projects, title review and insurance, zoning and land use, easements and restrictive covenants, and management of multiple deals and deal flow.
- Role would include working with outside counsel, counterparties, vendors, insurers, and other third parties.
Non-Real Estate Matters:
- Based on the needs of the company, responsibility for various non-real estate legal and general business matters
- Responsibility for various commercial law matters
Basic Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general real estate/ corporate transactional practice, private practice or in-house.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical services or related agreements.

- Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting that requires a highly accurate and timely work product
- Ability to effectively manage others, including outside counsel and service providers
- Agile and versatile; comfortable with new and unfamiliar subject matter; easily adaptable to change
- Enterprising and entrepreneurial
- Able to take initiative with no direction
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), and Sharepoint.
- Excellent analytical, time-management, judgment and decision-making skills
- Possess ambition and an optimistic attitude
- Ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities and demands on time
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Able to effectively manage complicated legal and business issues
