Business Unit: Terex Utilities
Location: Watertown, SD

Reports to: Production Manager

What you'll do
Team Member Development:
Develop cross training plans for team members to learn all tasks within a manufacturing line.
Participate in and complete performance evaluations.
Provide opportunities for team members to learn other jobs within the business in an effort to expand cross-training potential.
Coach and help team members understand KPI metrics.
Staffing:
Create daily staffing plans to ensure all functions of the operation are accounted for.
Determine that required staffing can meet current and future demand while ensuring productivity output aligns with business strategy.
Participate in the interview process of new team members.
Daily Operations:
Safety: Perform daily safety audits to ensure team member safety. Complete problem-solving activities to eliminate safety hazards. Escalate immediate safety concerns and incidents to the Safety team.
Quality: Document internal and external quality issues. Discuss internal quality issues with team and complete problem-solving activities to prevent recurring internal quality issues. Escalate external quality issues to the Quality team with a sense of urgency.
Delivery: Monitor pace of the line ensuring takt times are met. Escalate production stoppage and develop short term countermeasures. Review daily schedule and sequence to ensure daily goals will be achieved. Plan for team member absences to ensure production goals will be met.
Cost: Review daily staffing requirements to ensure productivity goals are maintained. Perform problem solving activities to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
Morale: Track team member morale and discuss potential opportunities with team
Improving Operations:
Effectively communicate change to team members.
Work with team to complete rapid daily problem solving.
Attend Kaizen events and communicate results and action items with the team.
Other Expectations:
Maintain a positive attitude.
Develop trust and respect with team members.
Be professional and be an Agent of Terex at all times.

What you bring
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering (Manufacturing), Industrial Management, Business, or comparable degrees required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal Lean Training and supervision experience a plus.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements include the ability to:
Lift and carry up to 40 pounds and or awkward items
Ability to stand/sit for a full 10-hour shift
Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors
Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses
Have a full range of motion (bending lifting reaching working with some small parts with repetition)
Salary: The compensation range for this position is $62,000-$72,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
