The AI/Machine Learning Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and operationalizing advanced data science and machine learning solutions across the product portfolio. This role provides technical leadership in building scalable data-driven systems, enabling intelligent features, and driving innovation through analytics and AI. The position involves close collaboration with software, hardware, and system teams to integrate machine learning and data-driven capabilities into products, particularly in regulated environments such as healthcare systems.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end data science and machine learning solutions, including data pipelines, model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop and validate predictive models, statistical analyses, and AI algorithms to enhance product functionality and performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, systems engineering) to translate business and product requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Work with global teams to ensure standardization, reusability, and platform consistency across data science solutions.
• Design and implement robust testing and validation frameworks for machine learning models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Optimize data infrastructure and workflows to reduce dependency on physical systems and improve development efficiency.
• Lead adoption of MLOps best practices, including CI/CD for models, versioning, monitoring, and governance.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to data scientists and engineers.

Quality Specific Goals:

• Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
• Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
• Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
• Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
• 15~20 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
• Strong experience in machine learning model development, evaluation, and deployment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, along with data handling frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Experience in data pipeline design and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, cloud platforms)
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and model validation/testing practices.
• Experience in object-oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C++, C#
• Working knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data platforms
• Business-level English communication skills for global collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience in healthcare data, medical imaging, or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, model governance, and explainable AI (XAI).
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
• Experience in image processing or medical data formats (e.g., DICOM)
• Strong communication skills for technical leadership and stakeholder engagement.
