Registered Nurse - RN First Assistant - Weill Cornell - Operating Room - Full Time - Day Flex

Take the next step in your operating room career as an RN First Assistant. Assist in a variety of cases, including robotic services. Serve as a beacon of hope and provide world-renowned innovative care to our patients. 

The primary role of an RFNA is to provide bedside assistance in robotic procedures, while the surgeon operates via the console. RNFAs assist the surgical team by expediting the setup of cases, including patient positioning, prepping and draping. With their experience, RNFAs have an acute awareness of each surgeon's preferences and steps to their procedures, and are thus more able to streamline the intraoperative process and minimize delays. RNFAs are also an asset to the nursing team by assisting with room set up and ensuring that proper instrumentation and supplies are available for the procedure. Turnaround times have been notably expedited by the RNFAs, who facilitate the flow of the operating room, which allows the intraoperative time to be used to its maximum potential.

This is a full time day flex position, 4 days per week, at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years of diversified perioperative nursing experience, both scrubbing and circulating

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • CNOR

  • RFNA certification

  • Current New York State RN license

  • BCLS certification

  • ACLS certification
