As a CPIE YE Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems! This position will identify, diagnose and resolve process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology. Additional responsibilities include working on system related projects to support the yield program across Micron network.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Lead Strategic Initiatives
  • Yield & AI Leadership: Drive high-impact yield improvements for DRAM/NAND/HBM and lead the AI transformation of YMS systems.
  • Project Delivery: Provide technical leadership to deliver complex projects alongside Fab, TD, PE, and GQ partners.

Yield Pareto Benchmarking / Modelling
  • Opportunity Identification: Use cross-fab Pareto benchmarking to identify yield wins and develop/revalidate advanced yield models.
  • Target Setting: Optimize and sustain methodologies for setting program targets, including 5-bucket and detractor models.

BKM Deployment
  • Standardization: Lead YE SWAT teams to define and deploy global Best Known Methods (BKMs), ensuring unified adoption across all sites.
Collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with global teams to unify stakeholders, manage system enhancements, and drive industry-leading technical transformations.
  • Operational Excellence: Balance a team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage global priorities and high-detail tasks independently.

Communication

  • Influence & Autonomy: Effectively communicate technical insights to drive decision-making while operating with minimal supervision.

Requirements and Technical Competency:

  • Experience & Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant field. Minimum 3+ years in PIE/Process Integration preferred (YE experience is an asset); passionate New College Graduates (NCGs) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert use of data analytics tools (Yield3, JMP, Python) for yield analysis and a strong grasp of structural and process integration concepts.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of fabrication, probe, backend, and reliability implications.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to multitask and perform root-cause analysis using a Model-Based Problem Solving approach.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel as needed to support global business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Technologies: Expert knowledge of ML/DL for yield prediction and HBM/3D-stacking (TSV/micro-bump) architectures.
  • Global Leadership: Proven success leading multi-site task forces to standardize global engineering processes.
  • Expert Analytics: Mastery of Advanced SPC to identify complex interactions across Fab, Probe, and Backend.
