About the role
At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The Position
As part of the Roche Cloud Platform (RCP) AWS team, we provide the enterprise cloud foundation that empowers Roche's cutting-edge business units to innovate safely, efficiently, and at scale.
The Opportunity:
As a Customer Integration Engineer, you will serve as the strategic bridge between Roche’s advanced Business Units (such as gRED & pRED Computational Science CoE and Pharma Commercial) and our enterprise AWS Cloud Platform. You will act as the primary point of contact to translate business pain points into actionable platform fixes, troubleshoot complex use cases, and ensure internal partners leverage the cloud to its fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration & Support Leadership: Manage cloud integration for dedicated Business Units (BUs), acting as the primary "how-to" platform expert and helping teams implement or migrate complex use cases.
Problem Solving & Continuity: Resolve complex technical hurdles using existing platform tools and provide follow-the-sun support continuity by taking over major incidents from global colleagues.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Interface directly with BU engineers and Product Owners to translate technical challenges into fixes. Partner with the cloud Managed Service Provider (MSP) to drive incident resolution and ensure BU satisfaction.
Business & Technical Execution: Act as a strong AWS practitioner who speaks the "language" of your assigned BU (e.g., Computational Science) to drive immediate efficiencies and improve team workflows.
Who You Are:
Experience: Proven track record of solving technical business problems and contributing to large-scale projects requiring deep DevOps and cloud infrastructure knowledge.
AWS Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on expertise building and managing platforms or multi-tenant applications within AWS, including account provisioning, landing zone deployment, customizations, and feature exposure.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid foundation developing, testing, and deploying infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK.
DevOps & Platform Engineering: Practical experience applying DevOps principles and platform engineering practices to build efficient, secure, and highly scalable solutions.
Development & SDLC: Highly proficient with GitLab/GitHub, standard SDLC practices, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python or Bash) along with testing frameworks like Pytest.
Collaboration & Learning: A proactive collaborator who continuously researches emerging trends, shares knowledge, and thrives within diverse, geo-distributed, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Operational Excellence: Strong ability to practice sustainable incident response, manage ITSM processes, and conduct blameless postmortems.
Agile & Modern Tools: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (SAFe principles, processes, and tools) and exposure to integrating AI agents to support automated DevOps tasks.
