Description/Summary:

The Senior Professional Services Consultant leads the delivery of mission‑critical SD‑WAN and advanced network implementations for enterprise and public sector customers. This role requires deep hands‑on expertise in routing, switching, security, and SD‑WAN technologies, with the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex environments under pressure and within strict change windows. The engineer works directly with customers to gather requirements, execute high‑risk deployments, resolve escalations, and guide customers through challenging technical situations while maintaining high satisfaction. Experience with Extreme Fabric and operating in cleared or security‑sensitive environments is a strong plus.

About Team:

The Professional Services team delivers complex wired and wireless network solutions from design through deployment, working hands‑on with customers across education, public sector, healthcare, and enterprise environments. We partner closely with customers to scope projects, lead kickoff and design discussions, implement, and migrate production networks, and provide knowledge transfer that sets teams up for long‑term success. Our work spans fabric deployments, switch and wireless configurations, large‑scale rip‑and‑replace projects, phased migrations, and remote or onsite delivery, all while coordinating schedules, managing stakeholders, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes. This is a highly collaborative, customer‑facing team that thrives on solving real‑world network challenges and seeing projects through end to end.

  • Travel greater than 90% possible. We attempt to keep this near 50%, but the work determines the travel.
  • Customer facing soft skills
  • Experience in SDWAN
  • US Citizen. Security clearance is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Expert in networking technologies with industry and regional knowledge and experience. (6 or more years’ experience)
  • Thorough knowledge of security design features and ability to implement and perform analysis of network and systems security design. (4 or more years’ experience)
  • Hands-on experience using security-related toolsets.
  • Must have strong skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution in a network environment.
  • Keen ability to understand and analyze customer requirements and position the Extreme solution effectively.
  • Ability to effectively implement SDWAN products and solutions in a mission critical environment within a scheduled downtime or with no downtime.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer interactions in difficult circumstances and control customer expectations in order to maintain satisfied customers.
  • Excellent inter-personal, technical presentation and communications skills.
  • Proven team player.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPv4/v6
  • In-depth knowledge of Routing Protocols (RIPv1/v2/v3, OSPFv2/v3, VRRP, MPLS, BGP, PIM, etc…)
  • In-depth knowledge of Layer2 Switching (802.1Q, 802.1 D, 801.x)
