About the role

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.

What You Bring

  • Deep Technical Expertise: 10+ years of experience in Supplier Industrialization, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Engineering, with a strong focus on electrical and electronic components including PCB/PCBA, wiring harnesses, connectors, semiconductors, and power electronics assemblies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related STEM field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Shop Floor Credibility: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and integration issues on-site at suppliers, particularly in PCBA fabrication and assembly, cable/harness manufacturing, box builds, and high-reliability electrical system integration.
  • Systems Thinking: Deep proficiency in AS9100, AS9145 (APQP/PPAP), IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and structured problem-solving methodologies (8Ds, 5-Whys, Fishbone) within regulated aerospace, automotive, or high-reliability electronics environments.
  • Strategic Leadership: Experience building or leading technical teams through an OEM production ramp, with the ability to balance immediate tactical "fires" against long-term process scalability.
  • Influence & Communication: Ability to translate complex technical risks into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and cross-functional partners in Engineering and Supply Chain.

Desired Experience

  • Electronics Specialization: Hands-on experience with electronics manufacturing technologies in an aerospace or high regulatory environment. Areas of expertise include: PCBA, wiring harnesses, avionics, flight control systems, and environmental control systems.
  • Certification Pedigree: Previous experience supporting FAA/EASA Type Certification (TC) or Production Certification (PC) programs.
  • Tooling Mastery: Expertise in assessing supplier tooling, fixturing, and test infrastructure for PCBA and electrical assemblies, ensuring robust process control, thermal stability, durability, and consistent quality at production rate.
  • Digital Integration: Experience leveraging PLM, ERP, and QMS systems to drive supplier transparency and data-driven quality decisions.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM field of study. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in Quality/Operations/Supply chain management.
  • Deep technical expertise of aircraft components or electric vehicle components
