The Back Office analyst position’s purpose is to support the deal life-cycle process through timely verification of derivatives’ or physical energy (natgas, power, lng, carbon/emissions) trade data in Gunvor ETRMs against external data sources; drafting, delivery and reconciliation of contracts under master agreement frameworks (ISDA, EFET etc); issuing and accepting margin calls; timely issuance and processing of relevant settlement invoices; operational delivery of carbon/emissions/green units/certificates to and from counterparties; handling mandatory regulatory reporting (EMIR, REMIT etc) and internal reporting on derivatives / gas&power business.
Main Responsibilities
- Daily verification of trading activity – reconciliation of all financial (paper) trades in the Trading system(s) against external data sources (exchange, trade recap, brokerage recap etc)
- Investigate position issues and discrepancies and advise other stakeholders on how to correct those
- Reconciliation of Group open positions in derivatives
- Regulatory reporting (EMIR)
- Daily margining activities (issuing margin calls and reconciliation of the ones received)
- Issuing contracts from templates with customized clauses when needed, validation of counterparty contracts; resolving relevant discrepancies in standard cases
- Processing derivatives/vendor receivable and payable invoices, investigating discrepancies; understanding and providing price calculation to counterparties if necessary
- Handling internal mappings (e.g. brokerage fees mapping, including complex cases)
- Interacting with counterparty contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Handling operational delivery of carbon/emissions/green units/certificates to and from counterparties
- Participation in UAT testing of IT systems
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in Back Office (banking, commodity trading or similar)
- Microsoft Office advanced user (especially Excel)
- Knowledge and/or experience in financial markets is highly beneficial
- Good stress resilience
- Team player and able to work independently
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Second major European language is beneficial
