Social Worker – Part- Time Westchester Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic
Experience a place where your discipline is immensely respected. As a Social Worker in the Adult Outpatient Clinic, you will provide direct evidence-based care for adult patients with diverse mental health conditions. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and patient-centered care. Other key clinical responsibilities include:
Provide time-limited individual, group and family therapy using evidence-based practices tailored to the needs of the clinic’s patient population
Develop individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families about mental health diagnoses, treatment options and strategies for emotional well-being
Monitor and evaluate patient progress and modify interventions as needed
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
Support crisis intervention efforts and risk assessment as needed
This is a part-time position, with coverage for 21 hours/week. Monday - Friday. No weekend coverage is available.
Required Criteria
Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
Previous experience in a psychiatric outpatient setting
Training in evidence-based treatment interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Treatment for Depression (IPT), or other evidence-based therapy
Competency in individual, family and group treatment modalities and treatment techniques appropriate to an outpatient treatment setting
Knowledge base of bio-psychosocial model, DSM-V diagnoses, criteria for treatment of different diagnoses in an outpatient setting, behavioral risk factors and of the impact of mental illness upon individual and family functioning
Knowledge of community and discharge planning resources and processes
Experience using an electronic medical record
Preferred Criteria
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
3 to 5 years of experience in the treatment of adult psychiatric patients
Experience with mood and anxiety disorders
