About the role

Location: Butler, PA

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works is looking for a Maintenance Engineer in our Silicon Maintenance Department.  The Maintenance Engineer is accountable for the development, management, and successful implementation of project engineering for assignments in the Silicon Maintenance Department.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Identify process improvements and/or critical equipment/facility replacements to produce a quality and competitive commercial product. 

  • Manage projects and/or provide direct technical support of the assigned equipment and facilities.

  • Participate in technical investigations, studies, problem review, new and proposed equipment, materials, processes and facilities and provide sound engineering evaluations and recommendations for proposed actions.

  • Prepare equipment and construction installation specifications.

  • Perform and coordinate activities relating to civil and structural engineering for new projects and upgrades.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of machine design, hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Ability to perform / coordinate structural and civil project and infrastructure activities.

  • Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, time management skills, and strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5+ years experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably steel production and finishing.
