This is an exciting opportunity for the right FSR to play an instrumental role in creating the future of Joint Data Networks in Australia. The JP9347 JIC System program provides an assured exchange of tactical, operational and strategic data across the Joint Force and coalition partners; including Situational Awareness (SA) and Command and Control (C2) information.


In the pivotal role of Senior System Administrator FSR, you will work alongside the 1JDNU organisation to provide technical support resolving system technical issues.


In the role you will be responsible for providing perform system administration duties on-site, field support to test and training activities, and perform helpdesk duties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support to ADF operators and maintainers in the form of on-site support, field support (as required) and helpdesk services.
  • Perform maintenance duties on the JIC System, as and when required by ADF maintainers to assist with system technical issue resolution or perform system upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with Defence and Raytheon Australia policies and procedures in relation to Global Trade, EHS&W and Finance.
  • Coordinate with the customer to arrange travel as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring System Administrators.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications: 

  • System Administration qualifications, including:
  • CCNA/P (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional) certification in routing and switching, Service Provider or higher, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Windows/Domain: MSCA or equivalent
  • VMware: VCP or equivalent
  • SIEM
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in complex IT system maintenance and administration.
  • Previous experience as a Level 2 or Level 3 Network Engineer administering a bespoke network
  • Understanding and application of technical theories and concepts relating to IT systems, networks, user administration and software management
  • Applicants must be willing to undertake interstate travel in support of our customer’s needs, sometimes for extended periods of up to two to three weeks at a time.
  • When required delivery of training and ongoing mentoring of System Administrators.
  • Desirable understanding and application of radio frequencies, networking, modems, and communications technologies.
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV2 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
