The Position

To achieve this, our Pharma Technical Operations (PT) organization is revolutionizing how we use data. The PT Digital and Operational Excellence (PTE) team catalyzes this global transformation by building an inclusive community, empowering our people with data, and scaling Digital and Advanced Analytics solutions.

As the Head of Data Site Operations, you will take on a critical leadership role ensuring that site-level data operations are fully aligned with Roche’s broader digital objectives. You will be the mastermind behind robust data governance frameworks at the site, facilitating collaboration between local teams and global data product teams.

Beyond the technical scope, you will be the local anchor and heartbeat for our PTE community in Madrid. Leveraging your rich local network and exceptional partnering skills, you will foster a cohesive, well-integrated environment, ensuring local PTE employees feel strongly connected to the broader organization and the Pharma Affiliate.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will drive measurable impact across two main pillars: Data Excellence and Madrid PTE Community Leadership.

Strategic Data Leadership & Governance:

• Lead & Escalate: Provide strategic leadership for PT manufacturing site’s data operations and serve as the primary escalation point for resolving its specific data or digital challenges.

• Data Quality Ownership: Assume full accountability for driving measurable advances in data quality and readiness at source systems, meeting the demands of current and future data products.

• Standardization: Design and enforce robust data practices to proactively identify and resolve data issues, ensuring seamless alignment with global standards.

• Strategic Alignment: Align PT manufacturing site-specific data initiatives with larger organizational objectives, encouraging collaboration between site teams, Data Domain Leads, and the Data Governance lead.

• Data Mindset: Advocate for a data-driven culture, embedding FAIR data principles into the site’s day-to-day operations and advancing Roche’s Digital Data Backbone initiatives.

Community Leadership & Strategic Partnering:

• Foster Community: Serve as the Madrid cultural and operational leader for the site's PTE employees, driving engagement and ensuring they are seamlessly integrated with the RDT organization and the Pharma Affiliate.

• Strategic Networker: Leverage your broad network within Madrid to build strong collaborative partnerships, acting as the primary voice and representative for the PTE community across Madrid stakeholder groups.

Who You Are

You are someone who thrives in matrixed environments, loves data as much as you love empowering people, and brings a highly structured yet adaptable approach to change management.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in data product management, data management, or advanced analytics implementation within a complex, global organization (experience within Drug Manufacturing is highly preferred).

• Leadership: 5+ years of senior leadership experience, specifically building, inspiring, and leading teams of Product Owners or Data Management teams.

• Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of data product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and data architecture principles.

• Community & Relationship Building: A proven track record of fostering local employee communities and driving alignment across matrixed structures. You are a masterful relationship builder with the partnering skills necessary to influence, connect, and effectively represent a diverse community.

• Communication Style: Exceptional strategic thinking, storytelling, and influencing skills to engage and inspire all levels of the organization.
