This is a hybrid role based at our GMP Laboratory in Middleton, WI. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance will be provided for this position.

Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to strategic growth and innovation in product management. As Senior Manager of Product Management, you'll develop and implement product strategies. Working in a structured matrix environment, you'll partner across functions to deliver exceptional value to customers and support business growth. You'll shape product roadmaps, manage new product introductions, and ensure portfolio profitability while serving as a key product advocate both internally and with customers. This role combines strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and technical expertise to advance Thermo Fisher's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

What will you do:

  • Drive Strategy to Action: collaborate with global leadership to build and launch a service Product Management function to include portfolio planning and short/long term customer segment strategy development based on customer needs and market forecasts.  By collaborating with the ASD and CRG market development teams you will analyze market growth, customer requirements, competitive strategy, and find opportunities to increase customer and business value through differentiation of ASD services. Where appropriate, you will use market research and voice of customer feedback in specific regions and customer segments to understand dynamics of market evolution and competition to maintain competitive advantage and will use gleaned information to drive revenue growth.  

  • Deliver Commercial Excellence by Supporting Business Development: enable the Business Development team to drive growth through new service development, commercialization and sunsetting, as needed, service offerings, including specifically:

    • Developing a viewpoint on the outlook of key segments based on a thorough evaluation of technology, competitor, regulatory, and market trends. 

    • Providing actionable recommendations to Sales, Operations and Marketing to increase revenue and develop and strengthen service line deployment. 

    • Creating compelling value propositions that effectively match our core business strengths to market needs and work with Marketing to develop/deliver specific marketing messages to stimulate demand.

    • Acting as the customer advocate interacting with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver the right integrated service offering to serve end-to-end market needs. 

    • Impacting global demand, capacity, revenue, margin, and pricing for the services portfolio. 

    • Identifying necessary organizational change and evolving to new platforms, new processes, and new ways of operating. 

    • Translating market intelligence into actionable insights by integrating a broad spectrum of information sources, extracting signals, and synthesizing data in the context of business needs. 

    • Effectively presenting findings and recommendations to senior and executive leadership. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 10+ years of experience in product management in life sciences, scientific instruments, or related industry

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


• Strong strategic planning and business acumen with proven P&L management skills
• Experience developing and launching new products from concept through commercialization
• Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, portfolio planning, and pricing strategies
• Excellent project management abilities and attention to detail
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels
• Demonstrated success gathering Voice of Customer input and translating to product requirements
• Experience working effectively in global, matrixed organizations
• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across functions and regions
• Knowledge of regulated environments and quality systems
• Proficiency with standard business software and analytics tools
• Customer-centric mindset with proven track record of improving customer experience
• Skilled at developing and executing product launch plans and go-to-market strategies
