FACULTY POSITION Pediatric Neuropsychologist
The Department of Psychology and Biobehavioral Sciences at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recruiting for a pediatric neuropsychologist with interest and experience in working with children with catastrophic illness, particularly those with sickle cell disease. The faculty appointment will have effort dedicated to clinical service and supervision of clinical trainees. The position can be filled at the Assistant, Associate or Full Faculty level, and can be within the Clinical track (20% protected research time) or the Clinician-Scientist track (up to 80% protected research time) based on candidate preference and goals.
St. Jude is a world-class tertiary care hospital focused on treatment of catastrophic illnesses of childhood including cancer, sickle cell disease and other hematologic disorders, HIV and other infectious diseases, endocrinology, and neurological disorders. Prior experience with these disorders is desirable but not required.
The Department includes 25 faculty across clinical, clinician-scientist, and research tracks, and houses robust clinical (APA approved internship and APPCN member fellowship) and research training (NIH T-32 funded post-doctoral fellowship) programs, as well as clinical and research placements for local graduate students. The Psychology Clinic is staffed by pediatric psychologists and neuropsychologists and masters-level examiners. The Department also maintains comprehensive clinical-research and data science resources. Psychology is a highly valued discipline within interdisciplinary clinical and research teams. Our work regularly involves collaboration with oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, neurologists, neuroimagers, rehabilitation specialists, educators, social workers, and child life specialists. Shared institutional resources readily available to faculty include a biorepository and clinical biomarkers lab, biostatistics, applied bioinformatics, and a variety of brain/body imaging resources (e.g., MRI, fMRI, DTI, MRS, fNIRS, PET). Candidates must have a doctoral degree in an appropriate psychology subdiscipline and have completed an APA- or CPA-approved doctoral internship and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology. Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a psychologist with Health Service Provider designation in the State of Tennessee. Candidates must also have evidence of research productivity.
