About the project

You will be focused on Information Superhighway - Retail (ISH-R) project, that enables a multitude of digital and frictionless experiences for our customers and shape the future of the Circle K business.

 

Qualifications and experience:

• Master’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, system analysis or a related study

• Minimum of ten years of experience in at least two IT solutions development disciplines

• Ability to speak English at C1 level

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments

• Good understanding of Digital Commerce, Point of Sale and Retail technology trends

• Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies

• Experience in working in retail is helpful, but not required

• Experience in developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps

• Experience in delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences

• Experience in managing Cloud Budget for complex projects

• Ability to analyze situations, make clear and firm decisions in a timely manner, and take responsibility for the outcomes

Responsibilities:

Translating business strategy into solutions architecture

• Understanding business drivers and capabilities, current state and future needs, in the Digital Commerce and Retail Technologies

• Understanding emerging technology trends and disruptions and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to implement new and evolving business and operating models

• Analyzing the technology industry, monitoring the competitors and market trends, and determining their potential impact on the enterprise

• Translating business needs into feasible architectural blueprints, considering broad scope of Circle K products, projects, services, systems, non-functional needs and standards

• Leading design and analysis of solutions in close cooperation with other architects and developers

• Documenting solutions architecture designs

• Planning and balancing cloud budget

Orchestrating solutions delivery

• Developing a roadmap for the evolution of the ISH-R API & Capabilities portfolio from current to future state

• Defining the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure decisions are aligned with the ISH-R future-state architecture vision

• Identifying the organizational (e.g. on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impacts on the solutions architecture

• Working closely with the Product Owners and Agile Teams to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle

• Cooperating with the SystemTeam, ensuring the availability, reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness of cloud infrastructure

As an architect, you need to demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of architecture patterns and development practices such as:

• Resiliency patterns (eg. Circuit Breaker, Fallback)

• Hyper Scale

• FinOps

• Reliability Engineering

Although you will not be expected to develop software directly, you will be expected to understand what our developers are telling you, therefore we expect you to have practical knowledge about most of below:

• JAVA, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit, NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React Native

• SQL and no-SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Dynamo, Redis)

• Sonar, GitHub, k8s, Docker

• AWS and Azure

• TDD, SOLID
