Job Description

As a Payroll & Commission Specialist, you’ll play a key role in making sure our team gets paid accurately and on time. From bi-weekly payroll to Loan Officer commissions, you’ll handle the details that keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. This position is located in Columbia, Missouri.

This role is all about the details. You’re someone people rely on—quick to spot when something’s off and even quicker to make it right.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including bonuses, deductions, and commissions.

  • Calculate commissions for both exempt and non-exempt team members, including Loan Officers.

  • Track and manage debts with accurate charges and credits.

  • Review payroll before and after processing to ensure accuracy.

  • Stay current on payroll systems, timekeeping tools, and labor laws.

  • Serve as a primary resource for employee pay-related questions.

  • Support month-end close, including reconciliations and commission accruals.

  • Help track compensation for compliance, including CFPB requirements.

  • Pull commission data for state exams as needed.

  • Jump in to support the team wherever needed—we’re all in this together.

About you:

We don’t require a specific degree. If you’ve built the skills, we want to hear about it.

You bring a mix of experience, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset, including:

  • 1+ years of payroll experience or commission processing.

  • Experience working in Workday.

  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data (Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, VLOOKUP).

  • Strong attention to detail—you catch things others might miss.

  • A sense of ownership and follow-through.

  • Clear and professional communication skills.

  • The ability to manage time and shifting priorities.

  • A willingness to jump in and support the team.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

But to us, success isn’t measured in numbers. Our success is measured in living our values every day: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity and Enhance Lives Every Day. We always strive to provide friendly service to military homebuyers and their families. And we always seek to lift up people and communities across the country.

We’re so glad you’re here checking out this opportunity!  If this role gets you excited but you’re worried you don’t check every box – don't sweat it. We’re more interested in what you can bring to the team than a perfect checklist. If you’re passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Come as you are, and together we’ll create something amazing.
