Department Overview

The Video Devices Teams in the R&D center in Krakow have been growing dynamically since 2019. Currently, we have more than 60 specialists on board working on solutions for fixed and mobile (body-worn) cameras. We bring advanced video capabilities to public safety and commercial customers including healthcare, airports, retail, critical infrastructure, and public venues.


Job Description

The Krakow Camera Firmware team is currently seeking a technical manager who will lead our group of cybersecurity engineers and take their contributions to the organization to the next level. The individual will have full responsibility for the cybersecurity practices across the entire Fixed Video Firmware Organization worldwide, as well as the planning and execution of the cybersecurity initiatives to further certify our product portfolio externally. The key skills in this role are technical excellence in the cybersecurity field and excellent communication skills, allowing one to bridge the different understanding levels and expectations both within and outside of the MSI organization.

This is a high-profile role with meaningful impact for the Fixed Video organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams within and outside of MSI on the cybersecurity scope agreement, delivery timeline, and certification needs.

  • Lead a group of highly skilled cybersecurity experts, providing them with support on the day-to-day work as well as future professional growth.

  • Identify knowledge gaps and assist employees in creating plans to address them.

  • Develop people and the team through planning, coaching, challenging assignments, feedback, and support..

  • Define the metrics and use them to track and report the status of ongoing initiatives.

  • Defines and promotes practices and processes for the engineering organization - tracks implementation status.

  • Assist in the product compliance assessments.

  • Actively support the definition of the relevant information assurance security requirements.  


Basic Requirements

  • Experience in leading people as a manager or technical lead.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  • Ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities, identify risks/issues, formulate recommendations, and drive sound decisions that deliver results.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • English language proficiency that allows efficient communication.

  • Education at the college/university level in a technical field (Engineering / IT).

  • Understanding of security concepts and terminologies

Optional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with certification processes (e.g. EU RED)

  • Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and the ability to identify and explain application security risks

  • Experience with embedded applications development in a Linux environment for ARM target processors

  • Knowledge of operating system concepts, including processes, threads, mutexes, interrupt handling, and exception handling
