The Opportunity:
ARKA Group is seeking summer test engineering interns who are passionate about working closely with our team to solve difficult mission-critical challenges. In this important role, you will be working on TestExec®—our Automated Testing Framework to automate data collection, analysis, and test procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Design tests for ground and/or space communication systems both individually and within a group environment
  • Work with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Conduct automated and manual testing of applications controlling integrated hardware and peripheral equipment while supporting/enhancing existing software products as necessary
  • Automate test procedures using python scripting
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to implement tests and validate test results
  • Support Test Planning by mapping requirements to Test Procedures for Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Use your engineering skills to analyze, design, and implement automated scripts within complex systems


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Currently pursuing a STEM degree
  • 1+ semester of experience with Object Oriented development
  • 0-1+ years of experience in a lab environment
  • Experience with the Linux Operating System
  • Experience with version control tools, such as GitLab
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future


Desired:

  • 1+ years of experience Python Development
  • Experience with the use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and digital multi-meters is a plus
  • Experience with python numpy and matplotlib libraries for data analysis

EHS/Environmental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
