Clinical Nurse Manager – RN - Pediatric Oncology Center HIP7- Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital
At NewYork-Presbyterian, oncology nurses are at the forefront of a bold new era in compassionate care. We house one of only 20 National Cancer Institute-designated centers for pediatric Phase I trials in the nation. We recently delivered intra-arterial Avastin directly into a malignant brain tumor, the first time this approach has ever been used. We pioneered use of low-dose CT scanning for early detection of lung cancer, and more breakthroughs are on the way. Here, courageous nurses administer chemotherapy, manage symptoms, support patients and educate families, all while serving as the nerve center of extensive multidisciplinary teams.
In this role, you'll provide hands-on clinical leadership as Clinical Manager across our Pediatric Oncology Center. Facilitate efficient and cost effective daily operations of the center. You’ll support clinical decision-making, lead huddles, monitor quality data, assist in scheduling, and promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. Work in collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participate in the establishment of short and long term goals and ensure its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. You’ll work with the brightest minds in healthcare to make tomorrow better for countless human beings.
This is a full time days flex shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. The shift is 4 days a week - 3 10-hour from 7am to 6pm and 1 7.5 hour from 7am to 3:30pm. No weekends and holidays required.
Preferred Criteria
• MSN
• APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course preferred
• Pediatric Oncology experience preferred
• leadership experience
Required Criteria
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• At least two years of inpatient or outpatient chemotherapy RN experience
• Current New York State RN license
• BCLS certification
• Must be experienced in administration of pediatric or adult chemotherapy
