Veterinary Assistant

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic is seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our practice in Central Point, Oregon.  

• Starting Salary: $19-20 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications and licensure
• Schedule: 4/10's - variable days based on business days. May include weekends.
• Additional Benefits: Scrub allowance
• Location: 1333 Plaza Blvd e, Central Point, OR 97502

Who you are:  

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting required
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
• Perform basic exam procedures 
• Skilled in venipuncture/blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
• Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assisting, post-operative care and recovery
• Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines
• Excellent client communication/education
• Adaptable to new ways of working with current medical team and doctors
