Reporting to the R&D Manager, the R&D Scientist – Water Quality is responsible for the development and validation of analytical instruments and sensor technologies used to measure physical and chemical parameters in water quality applications. This role plays a key part in bringing new products to market and ensuring existing products continue to meet high performance and customer requirements, offering hands‑on involvement across the full development and validation lifecycle. This position is part of the R&D Department located in Geneva and will be on‑site.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Develop analytical instruments and sensor technologies for water quality measurements.
Design, build, and operate test benches for product verification and validation activities.
Validate new products and design changes within the existing product portfolio.
Execute testing activities to ensure sensor accuracy, robustness, and compliance with performance requirements.
Document validation results in alignment with internal development and quality processes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout development and validation phases.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Applied Physics.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in applied measurement chemistry.
Strong hands‑on experience in chemical measurement for water and/or gas applications.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and metrology.
Hands‑on experience working with analytical instruments, sensors, or measurement systems.
Nice‑to‑haves
Experience in industrial or consumer product development environments.
Experience in project planning or technical project leadership.
