Overview of Unit/Department4W Med-Surg Cardiac is a fast paced, stimulating environment for nurses who love to use their critical thinking and prioritization skills. Our floor offers a diverse, complex patient population that requires telemetry monitoring and interventions, respiratory support and heart failure measures. As a nurse you will gain experience in multiple different medication drips and procedures that a typical medical-surgical unit does not encounter. This floor is perfect for nurses who want to gain a vast array of knowledge, practice nursing skills and perfect their analytical thinking. Job Summary
The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.Education: ▪ Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program ▪ Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience: ▪ Preferred: Previous nursing experience Skills: ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ▪ Demonstrate effective leadership abilities ▪ Exhibits valuable time management skills ▪ Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills. ▪ Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment. Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
