Job Title: C.N.A Trainee - Paid Trainee
Department: Long Term Care
Location: DeMay Living Center or Clifton Springs Nursing Home
Hours Per Week: 40 hrs / week during training
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm during training
SIGNING BONUS: UP TO $3,000
SUMMARY:
This role is a transitional, entry-level position designed to train the trainee on the necessary skills required to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). Candidates hired into this position are required to take and pass the C.N.A Training Class and state mandated test in order to earn their C.N.A Certification. Once classes have been successfully completed, employee may begin working as a nursing aide until certification is obtained.
OUR TRAINING PROGRAM:
· Skillfully and safely, perform all activities required to successfully pass the C.N.A certification in order to transition into the C.N.A role.
· Must remain in good standing with training program. Failure to remain in good standing for any reason may result in termination at the discretion of the training program leaders.
· Read and follow resident’s care card. Care plan includes residents daily personal care needs, treatments and therapies. Engage nurse with any questions related to care plan.
· Gives personal care to residents: bathing, toileting, feeding, transferring, and ambulating.
· Promote residents involvement and independence to the extent the resident is able.
· Observe and report changes in physical condition, behavior, reactions, and appetite to nurse. Report any hazardous conditions that may jeopardize resident, visitor, or staff safety.
· Transport residents throughout the facility as needed.
· Attend in-services to fulfill the number of hours required by state.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
C.N.A. Certification required to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Must be 18 years of age or older
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including telephone etiquette preferred.
· Detail and service oriented preferred.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
